TESTIMONIALS

The flexibility of being able to take piano lessons from home has been essential to our family, and we are grateful!

Really??

Do ONLINE music lessons
actually work?

At the start of the pandemic, the idea of virtual lessons seemed daunting and disappointing to say the least. The value of in-person, hands-on instruction felt impossible to replace in an online, video setting.

And yet, after two years of exclusively virtual lessons, the benefits and successes were an overwhelming surprise!

We as teachers give students the tools and knowledge they need to understand their instrument on a much more functional level than just showing them how to play the notes. Without the direct tactile placement of fingers and positioning, students develop a keener sense of note and rhythm acquisition and thus, are able to both learn and retain a variety of musical concepts in a relatively short amount of time. All this has led our students to become increasingly self-guided, motivated, and confident in their ability to learn and play.

In addition, and perhaps most importantly, the social, emotional, and creative outlet that online lessons provide for our students is expressed time and again. The inherent joy and fun of learning music in a safe and supportive setting has proven to be an easily overlooked necessity that we think everyone deserves.

All that to say: YES! Online music lessons actually work!

No Commitment • 100% Money-Back Promise

  • How Do I Get Started?
Getting started is super easy! You’ll simply create an account and book your first lesson. When it’s time for your lesson, log in to your account to access the Zoom link. Also in your account, you’ll have access to your Music Stand, which is your very own online dashboard for your lessons. If you decide to continue taking lessons, your Music Stand is where you’ll store all your lesson notes and sheet music and communicate directly with your teacher in between lessons. If, by chance, you decide after your first lesson that The Fun of Music is not right for you and would like a refund, just let us know (but we might be a little sad).
  • Really? A Money-Back Promise?
That’s correct, friends! If The Fun of Music is not for you, then we don’t want your money! (Well, actually, if you're just giving out money, we’ll probably accept it). But seriously, if after your first lesson you decide that online music lessons are not right for you, we’ll give you your money back. Period.

  • Do I have to commit to anything?
No! You may stop taking lessons at any time, for any reason. Or maybe you just need to take a break because life got busy? No problem! Though we are unable to offer a refund on any of your unused lessons, they will not expire so feel free to use them whenever you’d like.
  • Will you tailor the lessons specifically for me?
Through one-on-one, private lessons, your instructor will tailor your lessons specifically to YOU! Every student comes to lessons with different goals and musical preferences, as well as different learning styles. Our priority is to tailor lessons for each student in a way that addresses and supports their individual tastes, objectives, learning styles, and needs.
  • What if I don’t vibe with my teacher?
Sadly, sometimes teachers and students just don’t have a good fit. It happens, and it will make learning music NOT fun! After all, music is all about chemistry (like, the musical kind of chemistry – not the kind with potions and goblets). So if you’re not vibing with your teacher, let us know and give us a chance to pair you with another teacher.
  • What’s with all the fun? Shouldn’t I be taking music seriously?
Our objective is to lay a foundation of music theory and technique so that each student can learn to play in whatever style and form they choose. While building that skillset of common musical language and proficiency, we want to simultaneously foster creativity and individuality in the process so that lessons remain fun and engaging. We have seen time and again where a student with a genuine excitement and desire to learn and play loses interest or feels intimidated by an overbearing and over-demanding teacher. This makes us very sad!! We believe that the best way to take music seriously is to put a high priority on fun so that our students continue to grow through motivation rather than intimidation.
  • Can I reschedule a lesson?
Yes, we allow students to reschedule their lesson up until 24 hours before their scheduled lesson. Just log in to your account, view your schedule, and click “reschedule” on the particular lesson you’d like to reschedule. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund or reschedule lessons canceled less than 24 hours before the scheduled lesson time (though we will make exceptions for emergencies).
  • Can I book the same appointment time slot each week?
Currently, it is not possible to book recurring time slots, though we hopefully will be able to offer this feature soon. However, there is no limit to how far out you can book your lessons, so if you really want to guarantee a certain time slot, we’d suggest you book out as far as possible.
  • Do you offer a monthly subscription?
Not yet, but we are working on it! For now, you may purchase individual lessons (a-la-carte) or in bulk with FunPacks.
  • Is financial aid available?
When we say that we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the fun of music, we mean everyone! If finances prohibit you from taking music lessons, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
